Discover Idrix
Welcome to the fantasy realm of Idrix, home of the fae. But don’t let its beauty fool you. Danger lurks around every corner for the unprepared.
During the golden age of the Lucrum era, over a thousand years ago, it was a land brimming with magic and mystical wonders. Legends speak of mythical beasts as cunning as they were mighty, forests that whispered as if alive, and secret gateways leading to other worlds.
Everything changed during the Malus era when a terrible war ravaged Idrix, bringing with it a devastating curse that won't stop until it's destroyed magic, and Idrix along with it.
The effects are still felt today in the Nova era as magic continues to dwindle. Although all fae can use lesser magical abilities such as glamours and wards, only a select few possess the Blessings that grant them control over the elements of fire, water, earth, or air.
It is believed that only one-third of the population are Blessed, with only a small number possessing more than a trace of magic. The number of fae born Unblessed has only grown in recent years, leading to concerns that soon Blessings will disappear entirely.
Those among the Blessed are the bloodline heirs, influential families who can trace their lineage back to the first fae. The most powerful of these rule over the five territories of Idrix - Eirel, Tirrim, Gladhaven, Drei and Hightower.
Seats of Power - Nova Era
Seat of the Lord of Eirel.
Few enter, or leave, Eirel, the mysterious Northern territory. It is known for its natural beauty and connection to the elements. The nobility reside on the Isle of Mist, reached only by crossing its vast lake, with others making a living on its shores.
Seat of the Lord of Tirrim.
A bustling harbour town, Tirrim's proximity to The Amber City and its routes across the Narrow Sea have made it a political stronghold beyond its modest size, with influence spanning the length of Idrix.
Seat of the Lady of Gladhaven.
Crowds flock to Gladhaven for its markets brimming with irresistible bargains and unique treasures from distant lands. Its Lady has developed a reputation for hosting festivities lasting several days, sometimes weeks, where all are welcome regardless of rank or title.
Seat of the Lord & Lady of Hightower.
An isolated settlement perched high in the mountains. Despite its remote location, Hightower's inhabitants are a common sight on the mainland, thanks to its rich ore deposits and reputation for high-quality craftsmanship. It is said there is no finer sword than one forged in Hightower.
Seat of the Chief of Drei.
While the majority of its population live underground to escape its harsh climate, entrance is strictly prohibited to outsiders. The fae of Drei are known for having a short fuse and a preference to settle disagreements the physical way. The prized victors of its fighting pits are invited to dine with its chief, taking the position of honour on her left side.
Capital of Idrix.
Named for the stained glass windows that bathe the city in an orange hue, the ancient capital is the heart of Idrix's culture with a thriving arts scene and the realm's finest academies. It is home to the Circle of Enlightened, the divine chosen of Idrix who confer with the gods from the confines of their temple.
